Before the global war led by the #US and its mercenaries on #Syria in 2011, Syria was self-sufficient in terms of food production, with Syria achieving food security on its own, relying on agricultural sector development policies, where more than a third of Syria’s area was suitable for agriculture and nearly 6.5 million hectares have been cultivated with all kinds of agricultural crops.

According to 2010 estimates, it contributed 17.6% to GDP, with the agricultural sector employing about 17% of the total workforce.
Syria’s exports of agricultural products totaled 1.9 billion in 2010.
The war in Syria has caused more than $16 billion in crop losses.

Before the war in 2011, 20% of households spent half their annual income on food, but
after that more than 90% of households spent more than half of their annual income on food.
Since agriculture is one of the main drivers of the Syrian economy, the Syrian people are struggling to survive and about 10 million Syrians are at risk of food insecurity. They need immediate help and support to maintain their livelihoods and food security, especially in the time of Covid-19 pandemic, brutal siege and slaughter sanctions.

Thank you رئاسة الجمهورية العربية السورية . Please take actions quickly. ??????
