The “Just War” theory, explains Prof. Michel Chossudovsky, falsely presents wars of aggression as “humanitarian operation(s)”. (1) The contemporary versions of this deception present prey countries as rogue states run by “brutal dictators” and/or, in the case of the fraudulent “war on terror”, it presents so-called Islamic terrorists as a threat to the Homeland, even as the West and its agencies support these very same terrorists covertly and overtly.
Notice what Empire has done to Syria in the name of fighting a “brutal dictator” and “going after terrorists”. The country is now ostensibly “governed” by unelected al Qaeda, it is convulsing beneath the threats and deeds of sectarian terrorists, and it is thoroughly balkanized by imperial powers including the U.S in resource-rich areas, but also Turkey, and Israel. Al Qaeda and ISIS, meanwhile, have served as proxies for these imperial powers throughout the war.
The discredited “Caesar photos” purporting to show victims of a brutal dictator were used to impose a very brutal economic siege on the country which collectively punished Syrians living in government-secured area – all based on a fabricated deception.
Similarly, the White Helmets, a propaganda construct, more accurately described as “al Qaeda Helmets” were used to create chemical weapons false flag operations, falsely blaming Assad for atrocities and contrived events produced by the West and its proxies, all in the name of presenting Assad as the brutal dictator who kills his own people, thus empowering a false “Just War” scenario.
The end result of these imperial crimes and deceptions is that the country no longer has a national army or national institutions to protect against the cancer that is imperialism in all its forms. It is open territory for looters and plunderers who will continue to steal and privatize state assets. Chossudovsky explains the process in these words: “the main objective … is to secure control and corporate ownership over the region’s extensive oil wealth, while also imposing under the helm of the IMF and the World Bank , the privatization of State enterprises and the transfer of the countries’ economic assets into the hands of foreign capital. “ (2) Imagine a wounded lion being eaten alive by hyenas. This is Syria now.
Nothing that the imperialists did to Syria was humanitarian. Everything that imperialists did to Syria, including the impoverishment of most Syrians, was supportive of terrorism, including internationally-declared terrorist organizations (3).
All of Empire’s false and fabricated accusations remain confessions of its own misdeeds and criminality. There is nothing “Just” about this “Regime Change” War of Aggression.
